Shred-A-Thons

The Sheriff's Department has partnered with AVID to host several shred-a-thons to educate the public about identity theft.

This is your opportunity to bring personal documents that are no longer needed and have them shredded. Do not let your personal documents fall into the wrong hands. Do not become a victim of identity theft. Come join us!

"Scam of the Week"

Unfortunately, there are individuals who prey on the unsuspected in an attempt to defraud or scam people out of their hard-earned money. The Sheriff's Department's Community Resources Unit makes a point to alert the public of on-going or new scams. Our goal is to educate the public to prevent future victims and to stop these "scammers."

The Sheriff's Department prides itself in working with the public to provide a safe community for everyone. The Department publishes quarterly newsletters and informational pamphlets to provide residents with crime prevention tips, updates on Department activities, and information on resources within Pima County. Activity Book
Tucson's own David "Fitz" Fitzsimmons collaborated with the Pima County Sheriff's Department to design an activity book that would be fun for kids and teach them about safety. So, kids grab your parents and work on these activities together.
 
Community Connection
This newsletter provides information on crime prevention topics and public safety events. It is published on a quarterly basis by our Community Resources Unit.

Field Release
The "Field Release" covers topics that may be of interest to employees, such as: changes in Department structure, upcoming training opportunities, new technology, promotions, and graduations.
 
Neighborhood Resource Guide
This comprehensive resource guide covers topics from barking dogs to loud music to starting a Neighborhood Watch. It also contains a list of helpful telephone numbers.

In the Community

Pima County Wireless
Integrated Network

The mission of PCWIN is to design, procure, deploy, and operate a regional public safety voice and data communications network, improve public safety radio interoperability, and to design, construct, and operate a regional communications center.

32 agencies are involved in this project; this is an unprecedented county-wide cooperative effort. The end result will be county and city dispatch operations, combined with emergency services, under one new multi-agency communications system.
